Rural Health Action
It is a well known fact that a society cannot progress till its women and children are in good health. The Rural Health Action program has an important role to play in ensuring the health and well-being of women and children.
In Banspal and Telkoi block of Keonjhar district, the Anaemia & Malnutrition Control Program for Mothers and Children is taken up by SADHAN (Institute for Social Change). It aims to reduce and prevent anaemia and malnutrition among mothers (15 – 49 years) and children (0 – 6 years). In same time, Reproductive Child Health and STI & RTI cases were high than other blocks of Keonjhar district.
Covering an area of 18 villages of Telkoi and Banspal block, it focuses on strengthening detection, treatment, and prevention of anaemia and malnutrition. It combats other major causes of maternal and child morbidity and mortality through immunization and improved care at community level by supports of ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers.
SADHAN (Institute for Social Change) creating linkage between PHC / CHC with affected persons for better health of individuals. In association with UPHC Banspal SADHAN (Institute for Social Change) conducted special awareness drive among adolescent girls on health and hygiene.
Services at door step
This is taken up with capacity building of ASHA and AWWs about counselling and awareness sessions, improved participation of community people in monthly immunization campaigns, mobilising of pregnant and lactating mother who receive immunization services from the government health system We also promote delivering sanitary pad to adolescent girls where it is necessary. Always we are conducting session with ASHA & AWW including with women to promote colostrum feeding, exclusive and complementary feeding and institutional delivery.

Swachata Abhiyan
In keeping with the goal of “Swacha Bharat Abhiyan”, SADHAN (Institute for Social Change) set its goal “Clean Surrounding, Green Surrounding”. Through this program women groups join their hands together and started their action once in a week. These women group members were moving forward to Anganwadi Centre, Village surroundings and clean the area followed by planting the plants like drum stick, papaya and banana in their backyard. This process, provides women group members to keep their village clean and green along with they able to get green vegetables for their daily food habit.
